Audit Policy
The college audit policy is stated in the Student Handbook, under Academic Policies.
Registration (including tuition charges) for a course to be audited is the same as for courses to be taken for credit. Audit courses carry no credit and earn no grade points.A student must submit a Request to Audit form to the Registration and Student Records Services Division no later than the last day to add.Departmental approval to audit is not required to audit at this point, but students will need to discuss the Math and Science Division audit policies with the instructor.
Students who would like to be considered for audit after the last day to add must obtain the signature of the instructor and dean or dean’s designee on the Request to Audit form before submitting it to the Registration and Student Records Services Division. Audit requests will not be accepted after the mid-point of the term.
The Mathematics and Physics Department will follow this policy. In addition, when a student elects to audit, the instructor must also have the student sign a Math and Science Division Audit Form indicating the terms of the audit. The instructor and the student will discuss what is expected of the student in terms of course work, and those expectations must be clearly stated on the form. The policy with regard to attendance MUST be fulfilled.
The student will be required to adhere to the attendance policy for this course. Violation of this attendance policy will result in a grade of “W” if the violation occurs before (date of last day to withdraw w/o penalty)and a grade of “WF” if the policy is violated after (date of last date to withdraw w/o penalty.) A grade of “WF” is calculated in the GPA as an “F.” |
