Petition

To complete a Petition, follow these steps. After you receive verification that your Petition was successful, the Registrar's Office will be notified and you may then register for the online course through Web Advisor.

• Begin by accessing the course preview in Black Board. Go to Wake Tech’s Black Board site https://dist-ed.waketech.edu/webapps/login/ Do not log in, instead, select the “Preview” button.
• Select the "Courses" tab
• Select the desired Semester under “course catalog” and click MAT or PHY and select the course you are interested in. The preview for the course will look like a Black Board course. 
• Click the “Course Information” button located on the left hand side of the screen. This provides important information concerning the course.
• Click the “Petition for This Course” button on the left hand side of the screen. This is the Petition required for all online Math and Physics courses. These directions will have you download, open, modify and save two files that you will include in your e-mailed Petition.  You will also be asked how you satisfy the course pre-requisites.

After you e-mail your Petition as directed, you should allow at least one business day for a reply.

Note: The Petition does not guarantee a space in an online class; however, students need an approved Petition in order to be prepared to register.
